On-Demand Score Commands
SportsAlert offers on-demand scores to its users. This means that you can text message us
saying what team you want an update of and we will reply back with the score.
For example, you can text message us "mlb yankees"
and we will send a text message back to you with the current score of the yankees game. This
is especially useful when you're away from a computer and can't log on to SportsAlert
and subscribe to the game.
To send a command to us, send a text message to our email address alerts@sportsalert.net
or our short code 95495. Another option is to just reply back to a score update that we send you.
The basic command that you will send to get a score update is "[sport] [team name]"
or simply "[team name]". The options for [sport] are:
- mlb
- nba
- nfl
- nhl
- ncaaf
- ncaab
As for [team name], this will be something like yankees, bills, sabres, etc... You can also
send us the first few letters of the team name to save you some typing. For example,
sending us "mlb yan" would be recognized just as easily as "mlb yankees". However, if there is
another team in the same league with those same first few letters then you might not get what you
want so try to be explicit. For example, "ncaaf red" would match Texas Tech
Red Raiders, Miami (Ohio) RedHawks, Illinois St Redbirds, Marist Red Foxes, etc...
Below are some examples of commands you can send us and what we might send back.
The On-Demand Score Commands can only be used by premium users.
